New Release: “Resurrection”

Humble Francis is an indie rock band with a back seat sub and a mid-90s rawness. The beats bang between moody, dirty guitars while the bass sows velvet fuzz to the underbelly. The exposed vocals bleed through the stereo as synth sparkles down from above. Its a car ride head nod with your best friend. 

Hailing from Denver, CO Humble Francis was founded by producer and vocalist Ryan Hughes. Resurrected from a prior iteration called HR People, Ryan and former bandmates Collin Pierson (Bass) and Darren Fuller (Guitar) reunited in 2022 along with fresh blood Ian Gassman (Guitar, Vocals) to create an electric live experience. After 10 years of performance with HR People, rocking every kind of stage you could imagine from 2AM at the Diamond After Dark strip club to headlining theaters and opening for Just Blaze and Machine Gun Kelly, the band ended around 2020 with the pandemic. But not making music has never been an option, and from the ashes a new sound has arose.

Humble Francis released 3 singles in 2023, each a clue to the story the album will eventually tell. The latest single Resurrection, comes with an epic full length animated music video that explores the cycle of life. Death looms in the shadows of a dense, dystopian future-scape contemplating his role in the universe. As the poor souls he is surrounded by beg for more time, he reconsiders his role and sacrifices himself to turn back the clock in the name of love. Life Not Fair is an anthem of nostalgia, with a live action music video (think Rocky vs. Fight Club). A galvanizing fight for redemption, the protagonist is caught in a cosmic time loop, with nothing holding him back but himself. Last Call (along with the band name Humble Francis) is a tribute to Ryans father, who committed suicide. Humble Francis tells stories from the heart to connect with people, because we all need that.
